Vaccine to cure Type 1 Diabetes - 14/06/2010

Currently there is no known way to prevent the disease which requires sufferers to administer insulin usually via injection or a pump. Using a nanotechnology-based "vaccine," researchers were able to successfully cure mice with type 1 diabetes and slow the onset of the disease.

"This is very exciting for those who have Type 1 Diabetes that there may finally be a cure!". I would love to hear your thoughts. I truly believe this is a great find as it could save people and the Australian Government hundreds of millions of dollars in the management of Type 1 Diabetes. Think if there was a vaccine that could be given to a baby to prevent it developing diabetes. It would cause a lot of relief for parents of young diabetics! Please share your thoughts - email me at merendi@merendi.com.au and I  promise I will post some of your thoughts and comments.
