Merendi Leverett's RealBody Club Wt Loss Challenge - 23/02/2010

Day 1

I started well with my RealBody Club meal plan yesterday. After spending most of Sunday updating and choosing my meals for the week, I ate really well. However I still could have drank more water and less caffeine, oops!

The great thing about Meal Planning is that you only buy the ingredients you need and you are not wasting food by buying it, because you think you will use it.

Sonja's Chicken Enchiladas were YUMMY - I remember before having the kids Stuart and I would always make them from scratch. Mind you I didn't get dinner till well after 7pm, but it was worth the wait.

Why have I started this health kick? 3 reasons -

1. My husband recently attended a Corporate Health Assessment, yes with another company, not mine. Although his results came back good, he decided he could eat healthier,

2. A lot of my clients are participating in the "Real Body's Fat Loss A Thon" (www.fatlossathon.com) and I wish to show my support and not be a hipocrite. As they say practice what you preach!

3. I have noticed the weight had been creeping on since my dad passed away almost a year ago. I have also been lacking energy lately and decided it was time to 'step up' again!

My team of girls (Carly, Ashleigh, Chantal) and I are even looking to start training together - we are all really excited!! Now to find the time in my already busy schedule....I believe I have heard that one before from a client or two....

Day 2

Well woke up this morning feeling very dizzy (room was spinning) and nauseated. Yes first thought that popped into my head - I'm pregnant!! But no I don't think I am, as I have all the symptoms of 'gastro' - hot flushes, vomiting, diarrhoea (yes sorry have to use the dreaded word, but it is true). So my meal plans for today are out the window. At about 10am I forced a piece of wholemeal bread with some margarine and vegemite on it, as my tummy was rumbling from hunger, not nausea. Fortunately I have been able to keep it down for the past hour.

So it looks like Day 2 may have to start tomorrow. I guess the plus side is with 'gastro' you often lose some weight, just from vomiting and not eating. Yes I know not a good start to the weight loss journey, but we will see what tomorrow brings.

Also due to being sick, I won' be able to exercise either.....

Ciao,

Merendi

P.S. Yes I know I have only 6kg to lose, but it is the smaller amounts of weight (i.e. under 10 kg) that is the hardest to shift. Your body tells you that being a 'little' over is okay and it tries to sabotage yourself into thinking you don't need to lose the extra 5kg, by making it harder to lose it!!!
